This course provides instruction on advanced concepts of the 'C' programming language. Topics discussed include a review of C language basics; an in-depth study of pointers, structures and unions, advanced function development, queues, stacks, linked lists, trees and bit manipulation.
AUDIENCE People developing system and special purpose data management software using the 'C' language. Students must have an Introduction to C Programming class.
GOALS
  • Describe the components of the C programming environment
  • Use advanced pointer operations to implement pointers to pointers, arrays of pointers and pointers with functions
  • Use the six bit manipulation operators
  • Define and use data structures, unions and enumerations
  • Read and process arguments to main(), write recursive functions, and use pointers to functions
  • Use dynamic memory allocation and memory operation functions to build complex data storage structures
