Provides a working knowledge of SMP or SMP/E to people assigned to provide maintenance support for MVS – OS/390 and related subsystems (JES2, CICS, or VTAM).

GOALS
Upon successful completion the participants will:
  • Have an understanding of how to use SMP/E to perform maintenance for MVS and its subsystems (JES2, CICS, VTAM).
  • Be able to set up the JCL needed to execute SMP/E.
  • Know how to build and initialize the required data sets.
  • Be capable of using SMP/E commands to install SYSMODS.
